Family Ties
Saturday afternoon was a visit to see Brian. He’s still in his lovely old stone house in Kadina. Mind you the garden has grown a lot since I was last there and it is now surrounded by a literal jungle with palm trees and all. Awesome.
Big brother and Little sister chatted quietly but most of the conversation was between the cousins. Carey, Janie and myself. It has been a very long time since I have seen either but it was lovely to catch up. Janne is the spitting image of her mother Shirley, whereas Carey the Low genes run strong in her. She looks just like Shauna, who looks like Loueen, who looks like, Christine, who looks like Val who like Lisa who all look like my Grandma Jean.
Emily made a new friend with Brian and Jan’s Little puppy Lucy Liu. She also found she shares the Scholz petrol head genes with Carey and the love of 70’s muscle cars. Carey is restoring an XU1 Torana and has previously owned Hk and HT Monaros.
Janne regaled us with stories of her culinary adventures with her kids Casey and Jasmine (please correct me if I’m wrong I am shocking with names). Apparently turtle smells disgusting but tastes great (well according Jas anyway Jan couldn’t get it past her nose). And the best tasting Emu is the one you chase down with a quad bike, leap off and dispatch it then cook it as a stew. Mmmmmmm.
It was a great afternoon just chatting and laughing.
What a great family catch up. Wish I was there to join in. I bet Val enjoyed it all.
Comment. Sounds like it was a good catch up with family you haven’t seen for a while, i am sure Emily enjoyed her day along with Val.
I loved reading this i wish i could have met you all but i was down the jetty with my three boys all day
Would have been great to catch up. But hearing you are a gun at fishing you may not of wanted to meet me. I am like fishing anti-matter. One shake of my hand and all your fishing luck could have been sucked from your body.?
Don’t know if I like all that family connection ideas OR is it the truth?
It’s not Fake News ?
…and Janne looks just like you Ross. Great to see Brian and the girls, it’s been such a long time for me.
Did either of the Monaros have the 327 or 350 V8’s; cool cars I could never quite afford one.
